Powers/Abilities: Sub-Zero has the power of generating ice or Korimancy as it's known, with this he can generate blasts of extreme cold that can freeze a target solid, he can also use his abilities to generate ice to use in his slide, he can also freeze his target's legs with an ice blast toward the ground, Sub-Zero can also create a clone of himself made of ice that freezes on contact, he also can shield himself with a thin layer of ice which freezes his enemies on contact, he can also generate swords made of ice.

History: ages ago Kuai Liang and his elder brother Bi-han were kidnapped by the Lin Kuei and then trained and became members of the clan, Bi-han became Sub-Zero while Kuai Liang was Tundra, Bi-han as Sub-Zero would soon venture into a Shaolin Temple where he faced off against rival Scorpion of the Shirai Ryu, a japanese ninja clan that was rivaled to the Lin Kuei, the two battled for the map of elements before Sub-Zero easily killed Scorpion by ripping his head from his shoulders. Sub-Zero would soon battle the forces of four of Earthrealm's elemental gods and even further desended into the Neitherrealm where he faced off against the now undead Scorpion in a rematch with Sub-Zero defeating the spectre ninja and further defeated Quan Chi and Shinnok and recovered Shinnok's amulet which was given to Raiden whom resealed it back into the temple
Sub-Zero soon found himself entered in Mortal Kombat but his true goal was to assasinate Shang Tsung, however Sub-Zero finds himself stalked by Scorpion whom was ressurected for the tournament, Scorpion slayed Sub-Zero in Kombat setting off a chain of events in which Bi-han the original Sub-Zero would become the wraith Noob Saibot. Meanwhile Tundra learning of his brother's death swore revenge on Scorpion and took up his brother's name and mantle becoming the new Sub-Zero, Sub-Zero along with Smoke infiltrated the second Mortal Kombat tournament unaware of the Cyber Initiative being in place.
While in Outworld Sub-Zero is met by the Shaolin Monks Liu Kang and Kung Lao, Sub-Zero explains his role in the tournament as his way to get at Scorpion for his brother's murder. Sub-Zero soon finds Scorpion as a fight breaks out between them, Scorpion quickly realizes the Sub-Zero he battled was not the one that murdered him, Scorpion spares the younger ninja's life, confused Sub-Zero leaves the tournament and returns to the Lin Kuei Headquarters only to discover the Cyber Initiative had begun and already many of the Lin Kuei were converted into Cyber Ninjas, Sub-Zero refused to undergo the transformation and soon left with Smoke, the Grand Master however had other ideas as the Lin Kuei targeted them both to be neutralized and brought back for cybernization, both Smoke and Sub-Zero fought against the cyber ninjas, Sub-Zero was able to escape but Smoke was captured and turned into a Cyber Ninja against his will, unmasked with no loyalty to the Lin Kuei Sub-Zero joins the Earthrealm warriors in the battle against Shao Kahn's invasion forces. Sub-Zero in the battle defeats Cyrax and Sektor with the help of Smoke who's soul managed to override the programming of the nano machines inside him. Smoke however was lost in the war as it came to a close.
Sub-Zero vanished to the shadows only to soon emerge when he learns of Shinnok's threat against the Earthrealm, he also seeks to settle a score with Sektor once he learned of Sektor intending to take over the Lin Kuei, Sub-Zero is sidetracked when Scorpion attacks him. Scorpion defeats Sub-Zero in a fight but only to learn that Quan Chi was the one who massacred his family and clan, Scorpion filled with rage knocks Quan Chi into the portal to Netherealm leaving Sub-Zero behind, Sub-Zero recovered and soon defeated Sektor and took away from the cyber ninja the dragon amulet. Sub-Zero would become the clan's new grandmaster. Sub-Zero soon began to train a new generation of Lin Kuei, this time the clan would aid in the protection of Earthrealm, Sub-Zero and his clan moved into the snowy north in an abandoned temple once used by worshippers of the Edenian Sorceress Delia, it is there Sub-Zero discovers another korimancer named Frost, Sub-Zero decides to take her under his wing and train her, the training however is interrupted when word of Liu Kang's death reached Sub-Zero, the ninja and his student soon joined Raiden and the other warriors on a mission to bring down the Deadly alliance.
During the battle Sub-Zero finds himself betrayed as Frost attempted to steal the Dragon Amulet, sub-Zero watched as the power of the Amulet overpowered Frost to the point she was left unconsious, freezing her solid Sub-Zero takes her back to the Lin Kuei temple and lays her to rest, Sub-Zero returns back to Outworld and discovers a set of Korimancer armor which he dons in the battle against Onaga the Dragon King. During the battle Sub-Zero is confronted by Noob Saibot his own elder brother and his one time friend Smoke whom Noob had turned against Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero wasn't alone as Ashrah the demon hunter appeared and attacked Noob Saibot believing his tainted soul is what is needed to purify her own self, Noob and Smoke managed to escape. However by this point Blaze had signaled for the final battle of Armageddon in Edenia.
Sub-Zero had returned to the Lin Kuei temple only to discover Taven there, after a few words were exchanged Sub-Zero finds somebody has been corrupting his students, Sub-Zero rushes off only to be ambushed by Noob Saibot, Taven after beating Smoke shows up and defeats Noob Saibot, Sub-Zero thanks Taven and tells him he'll try to purify his brother's tainted soul.
Sub-Zero is later seen battling Scorpion at the pyramid of Algus, it's believed the two ninjas killed themselves in the final battle in which Taven was about to claim Blaze's power only for Shao Kahn to kill Taven and then Blaze gaining the power himself before sending Raiden to death.
In an alternate time line Sub-Zero's fate was much different as he instead of Smoke underwent the cyber transformation against his will due to Raiden's attempt to alter history, Sub-Zero as a cyber ninja was reprogrammed as his old memories returned as he sides with the Earthrealm warriors
